Scribers are used in combination with a steel ruler or an engineer’s square for measurements – the fine point means that it is accurate. The point of the scriber may need to be reground from time to time in order to keep it sharp. Metal can also be drawn on with a scribe, because it will be useful drawing out your design for fine piercing work or engraving. This scriber/burnisher has a scriber point at one end, and a burnisher at the other.
