Raffir stabilized platan wood is a strong choice for handles and inlays. Platan wood cut in the YC direction has a unique and very different snakeskin texture and reveals the wonderful grain pattern. The stabilization process also gives extra contrast to the grain pattern. Therefore, platan wood and dyed stabilization is a perfect match. All of our platan wood is forested in Europe under high quality standards. Raffir stabilized wood has high durability. It also obtains a high gloss finish after polishing. It absorbs very little water and has low swelling and shrinkage at different humidities. The material has a smooth surface and needs no other finishing.
