Carbon Brushes for Foredom SR-2 Hanging Motor

Carbon brushes are one of the most commonly replaced elements on your hanging motor. Since carbon brushes are wear and tear items, meaning that through friction and use  they will gradually wear away, they eventually require replacement. Worn brushes are common causes of intermittent motor function. The brushes should be checked periodically.

Be sure to replace both brushes if one has worn down more than the other. Brushes are installed into the sides on the hanging motor, one on each side at the opposite end of the flexishaft, they are installed in the brush holders that are made from copper or brass encased in plastic with shallow plastic screw caps which are to be removed to gain access to the brushes.
