Presidium Gem Indicator

The Presidium Gem Indicator (PGI) is the only hand held tester in the industry specifically for coloured gemstones. It indicates up to 31 different types of coloured gems based on their thermal conductivity and even features a colour input function that allows users to select from a range of 12 common colours, thereby achieving more accurate results. With an easy to read clear digital LED screen.

The PGI is an enhanced and more convenient handheld version of the popular Presidium Gem Tester . They both distinguish between diamonds and other coloured gemstones using the principles of thermal conductivity.

The indicator probe consists of two linked thermometers: one which is heated electronically, while the other is cooled by the gemstone being tested. The difference in temperature creates an electrical output which is then amplified and displayed on the digital LED display.

Recommend for professional use in environments at ambient temperature range between 23-27C.
