This tap and die set comes with a tap wrench, 18 taps (taper & plug) 1.00 to 2.5mm and 9 split dies 1.00, 1.10, 1.20, 1.40, 1.60, 1.80, 2.00, 2.20 & 2.50mm and  two circular jigs for fitting taps into the tap wrench.

A tap (for cutting internal screw threads) is fitted into the tap wrench by using one of the circular jigs provided and then slowly turned into a pre-drilled hole just smaller than the diameter of the tap. The object or bolt containing the hole should be secured in a vice. This will start the threading process. Once complete to the desired depth, a matching sized die is fitted into the tap wrench and turned slowly around a screw or steel rod of the appropriate size. This will start the threading process for the external screw thread. Again, the steel rod or screw should be secured into a vice while being threaded. It is recommended to use a cutting lubricant such as beeswax to aid the threading process.
